Last night on World-At-Six CBC stated falsely that most members of the
Orgaization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons voted against
Russia's proposal to hold a joint investiagation. In fact the vote was:
FOR 6: AGAINST 15: ABSTAIN: 17.
Four hours later on The national, CBC showed a clip of the head of
Porton Down Research Lab stating to a Russian interviewer that their
mandate was not to determine where the nerve agent was made. CBC did
not broadcast his next statement where he said that the lab was unable
to establishe that the poison came from Russia.
This is important because media echo chambers had played Boris Johnson
saying two weeks ago, " ....the people from Porton Down, the
laboratory, they were absolutely categorical. I asked the guy myself, I
said: Are you sure? And he said: Theres no doubt."
This morning on World_Report CBC implied Britain had broad
international support for its anti-Russia position. FactS: Britain got
support from 25 of 193 counties - mostly NATO members. They did not get
heavy weights China, India, Japan ... or more simply the only Asian
support was from Australia. Nothing from all of Africa or South and
Yesterday Russian TV, (RT America) broadcast a development that the
British Foreign Ofice had just deleted a tweet from March 26 claiming
that the Porton Down lab had established Russia as the source. Russia
trumpeted that. CBC was silent.
I understand why Russian TV presents all it can to persuade us that
they did not do it. But why is the CBC misleading the people who fund
them by spinning the opposite. Why not be impartial?
