Housing Minister Yoav Galant on Tuesday condemned the genocide taking place in Syria, adding that “it is time to eliminate” President Bashar Assad, following US accusations that the regime is using a crematorium to hide atrocities being committed outside Damascus.

“The reality in which people are executed in Syria, being hit deliberately by chemical weapons, their bodies being burned, something we haven’t seen in 70 years, we are crossing a redline and it is time to eliminate Assad, literally,” Galant, a former major-general in the IDF and member of the National Security Council, said at the Second International Ground Warfare and Logistics Conference at Latrun, outside of Jerusalem.

Earlier, in an interview with Army Radio, Galant charged that the rule of the Assad regime is the worst since the Nazis led by Adolf Hitler in Germany during World War II.

“What is happening in Syria is defined as genocide, under all its classifications,” he told Army Radio. The Kulanu minister added that Israel wants to see Assad and his Alawite regime fall from power and be replaced by a moderate Sunni ruler.

It's not cricket to "eliminate" and enemy leader. Instead, millions of young men may be sent to die by old statesmen who will never suffer a scratch or a missed coffee break.

We know that before and during WW2, Winston Churchill was repeatedly presented with effective proposals for assassinating Adolf Hitler (the first was from Colonel Noel Mason MacFarlane) Churchill refused them all point-blank, saying that take such action "could lead to undesirable consequences."

So the war went on, presumably without "undesirable consequences" --- (except for the 55 million worldwide who died)for cowardly old statesmen who did not want to set a new precedent.

Josef Stalin likewise angrily forbade two proposed attempts (one from General Anatoly Kulikov) in 1943 and 1944. DON'T UPSET THE APPLE CART.

It is wrong and dangerous to assassinate a foreign leader. It is right and safe for leaders to have wars that kill their neighbours and children.

War is civilized. Assassination is wicked.

There, simple. Got it?

Actually since Hitler was such an inept military commander they were afraid he would, if killed, be replaced as military commander by someone like Guderain or Rommel.
