On Thursday, President Donald Trump said that he would soon announce
protective tariffs on metals ? 25% on imported steel and 10% on imported
aluminum.
At the behest of DEMOCRATS.

Impose Steel Tariffs

Democrats Pressure Trump to Fulfill Promise to Impose Steel Tariffs

Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, said on Thursday
that he would block the nominations of Gilbert B. Kaplan for the top
international trade post at the Commerce Department and Nazakhtar
Nikakhtar for assistant secretary of commerce until the White House
advanced a stalled effort to protect American metal producers from cheap
Chinese products, with TARIFFS.

STILL can't understand why liberal Democrats are so in love with Mexicans.
Mexicans are against abortion, contraception, pre-marital sex, mainly
because they're mostly Catholic... oh, and they HATE you. Am I leaving
anything else out that you just LOVE about them?

Riiiiight... they're potential Democrap voters.

Rudy Shows His Total Lack of Knowledge In Dealing With Standards --
MILITARY Standards.
Perhaps MattB is ex-military. That doesn't REALLY matter though, Toody...
the format of "dd mmm yyyy" is being used quite extensively in AMERICA
now, and not just in the military.
Matty didn't quite make it 4 years in the Navy.
He was denied re-enlistment.
Kind of beside the point, and I said "perhaps" and followed it with what
is going on in AMERICA, as far as the written date format is.

The United States military normally uses the "DD MMM YYYY" format for
correspondence. The common month-day-year format is used when
corresponding with civilians.

The military date notation is similar to the date notation in British
English but is read cardinally (e.g. "Nineteen July") rather than
ordinally (e.g. "The nineteenth of July").

In the United States, dates are TRADITIONALLY written in the "month-day-
year" order, with neither increasing nor decreasing order of significance.

This order is used in both the traditional all-numeric date (e.g.,
"1/21/16" or "01/21/2016") as well as in the expanded form (e.g., "January
21, 2016"-usually spoken with the year as a cardinal number and the day as
an ordinal number, e.g., "January twenty-first, two thousand sixteen"),
with the historical rationale that the year was often of lesser
importance.

The DAY-MONTH-YEAR ORDER, (e.g., "02 Mar 2018") has been increasing in
usage since the early 1980s. The month is usually written as an
abbreviated name, as in "19-Jul-1922".

The fully written "day-month-year" in written American English IS BECOMING
MORE COMMON outside of the media industry and legal documents,
particularly in university publications and in some internationally
influenced publications as a means of dealing with ambiguity.
